Bail can be set because of an arrest, failure to appear, or an outstanding criminal investigation warrant. After booking and processing, a bail amount will be set. This amount can change based on evidence presented by the prosecutor.
Once the bond is set you have the chance to either pay the full amount, pledge property to the state or hire a bondsman. That’s where we come in.

Our office will do an informal background check on the phone and verify your information, then possibly ask a few more questions. In most cases if you’re within the jurisdiction we service (Oklahoma County and the Oklahoma City jail, mainly), we’ll move on to an in-person meeting.
The Interview
Most of the time we’ll be able to talk on the same day unless the call is very late, in which case it might be pushed to the next morning. If we agree to a meeting, we’ll do some more research in the meantime to see if there are any red flags or issues that we might run into that need to be addressed in person.
We’ll talk and go over any possible areas of concern, then move on to a discussion of how you can pay. Most bail bondsmen in OKC are a little less flexible on this than we are—we’ll try to make it work if at all possible. A bond fee is typically 10 percent of the bond amount but can vary.
The Bail Bond
Usually we can service a bond either that day or the next day. In a lot of cases, it’s not an immediate release once the bail bond is posted, but it depends on the situation. If you’re turning yourself in for an active warrant we’ll go in and do booking paperwork that morning but instead of going to jail you leave and have to go to the courtroom later that day. If you’re in jail already, it often takes between 12 and 24 hours for release.
Outside of Oklahoma County, bonds are often an instant release. Oklahoma County bonds take a little more time to service.
If your bond goes up after formal charges are filed, you will be responsible for paying the difference. For example, if you bond out on a $1000 bond, then your premium would usually be $100. If your bond is increased to $2000 after formal charges are filed, then you would be responsible for the additional $100 to bring your premium to $200.
The Follow Up
Once you’re released, you have to go to all your court dates and hold up your end of the bargain.
